About Microchip Technology Incorporated
Operating across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, Microchip Technology Incorporated is a leading developer, manufacturer, and distributor of intelligent, interconnected, and robust embedded control solutions. The company's extensive product portfolio includes a range of general-purpose microcontrollers (8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit), alongside 32-bit embedded microprocessors. They also produce specialized microcontrollers designed for numerous applications, spanning automotive, industrial, computing, communications, lighting, power supplies, motor control, human-machine interfaces, security, and various wired and wireless connectivity requirements. To support product integration, Microchip offers essential development tools, enabling system designers to program their microcontroller and microprocessor offerings for tailored applications. Their offerings further encompass field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), along with a wide array of analog, interface, mixed-signal, and timing products. These include solutions for power management, linear circuitry, mixed-signal, high-voltage, thermal management, discrete components (diodes and MOSFETs), radio frequency (RF) devices, drivers, safety, security, precise timing, and various connectivity interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, and wireless technologies. For small footprint devices, Microchip supplies various memory products, including serial EEPROM, serial and parallel flash memories, serial SRAM, and serial EERAM. Beyond hardware sales, Microchip licenses its proprietary SuperFlash embedded flash and Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) technologies to foundries, integrated device manufacturers, and design partners. These licenses facilitate the production of microcontrollers, gate arrays, RF, analog, and neuromorphic computing products that require embedded non-volatile memory. Engineering services are also part of their offerings. The company also extends manufacturing services, encompassing wafer foundry, assembly, and test subcontracting. Complementing these are timing systems, application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), and products designed for the aerospace sector. Microchip Technology Incorporated was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Chandler, Arizona.
